An - Mo / Tui - Na
An-Mo or Tui-Na therapy is a healing body massage originating in traditional Chinese medicine. An-Mo and Tui-Na are almost identical methods, but can be distinguished regarding their regional distribution: An-Mo is situated in the north of China and Tui-Na more in the south. An-Mo means "press-smoothen", Tui-Na "push-grasp". This explains that by An-Mo und Tui-Na various massage techniques are applied.

Depending on the specific ailment of the patient, the therapist massages with gentle or greater pressure along the meridians and certain pressure points. In doing so, he not only uses his hands, but sometimes his fingers, elbows or feet as well. There is a distinction between two techniques. Slow, clockwise movements, which create more energy in the body, or fast, anti-clockwise movements, which free the body of surplus energy.
