Cupping
Cupping is an ancient chinese therapy that helps to regulate the flow of energy and blood and is believed to draw out cold, wind and damp. Hippocrates maintained that disease resulted from contamination or poor mixing of the four body juices - blood , phlegm , yellow bile and black influence.
In Cupping, suction is created by introducing fire into a cup and placing the cup on the desired point. This creates a vacuum and the underlying tissues are drawn up pulling inner congestion in the body up and out. This is known as Dry Cupping, where the skin is un-harmed and can relieve congestion or pain and improve the circulation. If the skin is pricked with a needle before cupping, the vacuum then acts to drain bad energy out of the body by means of the blood.
