Connective tissue massage
The connective tissue massage is a massage technique developed in the 1920s by the physiotherapist Elizabeth Dicke. The connective tissue massage is based on the theory of reflexology: The internal organs are linked via nerves with certain clearly defined skin areas (reflexology). Due to internal organ disease, based on these nerve connections, the corresponding skin area (reflex zone) can change, such as thickening or hardening of connective tissue in the subcutis.
With the connective tissue massage, the affected subcutaneous tissue is treated. On the one hand muscular tension in situ is eased. And on the other hand, the massage also affects distant organs and body areas that are related to the treated reflex zone.
Application method:
- Gastrointestinal disorders after inflammation
- Liver and biliary complaints after an inflammation of the liver
- Various kinds of pain, such as migraine
- Menstrual complaints
- rheumatic diseases (joint pain)
- Circulatory disturbances of the legs
- non-inflammatory vascular disease, such as varicose veins
