Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the main treatments of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). This includes the idea that the life energy Qi flows through the body, and that Qi flows in well-defined channels (meridians). On the meridians there are many points where the flow of Qi can be influenced.

In acupuncture thin needles are used to stimulate certain points, this stimulation may eliminate the disrupted flow of qi, or strengthen the Qi flow or diviate an abundance of Qi. The prick of the needles rarely cause pain. Patients feel a slight pull or a fine electric feeling when the desired point is reached. Extra turning, lifting or lowering of the needles can stimulate each point. In addition to the simple needle acupuncture, there are other techniques, for example, the application of heat (moxibustion), electrical stimulation or laser acupuncture.
